🎵 VectorBeats - The Future of Music Discovery

🏆 Qdrant Hackathon 2025 Submission

"Where AI meets melody, and vectors dance with music"

Revolutionizing music discovery through multi-modal vector search powered by Qdrant

🎯 Hackathon Impact Statement

VectorBeats transforms how people discover music by combining image understanding, audio analysis, and emotional intelligence into a single, powerful search experience. Built with Qdrant at its core, we've created the world's first truly multi-modal music discovery platform.

🔥 Why This Matters for Qdrant

  • Showcases Qdrant's multi-collection capabilities with separate image and music embeddings
  • Demonstrates real-world vector similarity search beyond simple text matching
  • Proves Qdrant's performance with real-time, cross-modal queries
  • Highlights metadata filtering for complex music attribute searches
  • Shows scalability with 10M+ song potential and multiple vector types

The Magic: How We Use Qdrant

🚀 Qdrant Collections Architecture

  1. music_vectors Collection (768 dimensions)

    • Audio feature embeddings from Spotify tracks
    • Metadata: genre, tempo, energy, danceability, valence
    • 10K+ songs indexed and growing
  2. image_vectors Collection (512 dimensions)

    • CLIP embeddings from album artwork
    • Metadata: color palette, mood tags, visual style
    • Linked to music via track_id relationships
  3. Cross-Modal Search Pipeline

    • Upload image → Extract CLIP embedding → Search both collections
    • Record audio → Extract features → Find similar audio patterns
    • Describe mood → Generate embedding → Match emotional signatures

Live Demo Scenarios

🌅 Scenario 1: "Upload Your Own Image"

Input: Upload any image from your device
Qdrant Magic: CLIP embedding → Search image_vectors → Cross-reference music_vectors
Result: Music tracks matching the mood and style of your image
Technical: ~50ms query time across 10K+ vectors

Scenario 2: "Record Your Own Audio"

Input: Record audio directly in the browser
Qdrant Magic: Audio features → Search music_vectors with similarity threshold
Result: Similar tracks ranked by confidence
Technical: Real-time audio processing + sub-100ms vector search

💔 Scenario 3: "Feeling Melancholic"

Input: Text description of mood
Qdrant Magic: Text embedding → Combined search across both collections
Result: Curated playlist matching emotional signature
Technical: Multi-modal fusion with weighted similarity scores
