🌼 Hi, I’m Matt Hemstock (he/him)

I’m a Back End Web Developer with a background in IT systems administration and video post-production workflows.
I build web applications using Typescript, Node.js, Express, React and PostgreSQL, and I enjoy solving complex technical problems, improving workflows, and putting together orangised, easy to read code.

Background

Before moving into development, I worked as a Systems Administrator in post-production, managing infrastructure, servers, Docker environments, and automation with PowerShell and Google Workspace administration.

Earlier, as an Edit Assistant, I worked hands-on with Avid and media workflows, ensuring reliable and organised post-production systems.

These experiences taught me how to stay calm under pressure, think logically, and engineer reliable solutions - skills I now bring into my software development journey.

What’s Next

I’m focused on improving my full stack skills, contributing to real-world projects, and continuing to learn modern tools and frameworks.
