UC1 - Wang Kin

  • It's lovely Wednesday morning, Wang wakes up and gets ready and is about to go to class.
  • Since DNUI is built on a mountain, the walk from Wang's dorm to his classroom at SOVO is quite the journey - 3km in fact.
  • Wang could be lazy and take a taxi or ride his electric segway to class. But no, being the environmentalist that he is, Wang decides to walk to SOVO, not only to keep fit but also to make a positive contribution to the environment.
  • Having passive tracking set up in CTrack, Wang simply turns on his phone and starts walking to SOVO. Passive tracking is a smart feature, such that when it is turned on, Wang does not need to open CTrack for the tracking to work.
  • After a strenuous 20 minutes of downhill walking, Wang Kin finally arrives at SOVO. After a quick break and taking a few deep breaths; Wang pull out his phone and opens up CTrack.
  • Since Wang is a regular user, he is already logged into the app and is directly taken to the home page. Wang then clicks on the 'Graph' icon which takes him to the Activities page.
  • Wang then clicks on the 'Step Tracking' button which takes him to the 'Step Tracking' page. Wang views his statistics and see that he has made a total of 2400 steps in the past hour and reduced his carbon emmison by 20 grams.
  • Please with his contribution, Wang clicks the drop down bar and selects 'Goals' which takes him to the 'Goals' page. Wang decides to set himself a goal of walking 100,000 steps by the end of the week.
  • As the week goes on, Wang checks CTrack daily to see the progress of his goal.

UC2 - Ben Dover

  • Ben is a active QUT student who loves socialising with his friends. One Friday morning, on his bus ride to uni, Ben opens up CTrack to view the environemental articles displayed on the home page.
  • Ben see from one of the articles that there will be a environemental expo tonight at QUT. Feeling quite interested, Ben decides to go to the expo.
  • At the expo, Ben meets some new friends and adds them as friends in CTrack from the 'Social' page. Ben also recieves some useful environmental tips about things to do which could have a positive impact on the environment. This motivates Ben to use CTrack more often to view environmental articles and track his activities.
  • As Ben's life goes on and he tracks his activities, he views his leaderboard on a daily basis from the 'Social' page to see how he is doing compared to his friends.
  • Ben also uses his activity points to grow trees and flowers in his garden.
  • As the app grows in functionality, Ben plans to use CTrack to compete in activities against his friends to see who can have the best positive impact on the environment. Furthermore, Ben plans to expand his garden to compare with his friends and flex who has the most luscious garden.
