Maybe the dockerfiles can be condensed, there's quite some repetition. Also it's not pinning Spack itself, but taking an arbitrary develop commit + patches. |

@alalazo would it make sense to move to cirrus ci so we get arm builders? I'm afraid a full ci run takes like 6 hours per job if it builds from sources. |

@haampie My spack PR would benefit from the amazonlinux:2023 image CI using amazon-2 is failing because it has gcc 7.5.3 by default, while I need gcc > 9.5.0 |
