Should this be done in the copier template then?
Can you try to remove the -j flag in the branch of the other PR you mention, just to make sure this indeed fixes the problem?

I would like to understand why this is an issue here. It hasn't been for the other packages. So I don't want to remove multi threading it for all of them.

This PR targets that branch. So if it works here, then it should work there, too.
