@adamchainz thanks for the PR! AFAICT, this would break in Django 1.8, right? I'd prefer to wait with merging this until 1.8 is EOL'd. Or alternatively a fallback to import the legacy location if the import of postgres fails.

@beniwohli can this be merged / released to PyPI? 1.11 is the last release to maintain postgresql_psycopg2, so it would be nice to get this out so switching to 2.2 is possible.
