Using Plotmish: Remeasuring a Vowel
Vowels can be remeasured in 3 different ways: in praat, by duration and by maximum formant values.
The 'Remeasure' button shows which type is to be used: RemeasureP, Remeasure%, RemeasureF
You can change which type by clicking this button. When a the Praat option is selected, clicking a vowel will open up that vowel in Praat. You can then change the settings in Praat and move the cursor as you see fit.
click: Query > Log 1 (F12) and plotmish will draw a black vowel on the screen with those measurements. You can make multiple remeasurements in Praat.
Then go back to plotmish and click on the remeasured vowel you would like to change to. You can always select the original vowel (in white with a coloured border) as well.
clicking on a vowel will show 5 new vowels (in black) measured at 20%, 35%, 50%, 65%, 80% of the vowel's duration. Click on the remeasured vowel you would like to select.
clicking on a vowel will show the vowel measured at the same time but with a maximum formant setting of 3, 4, 5, and 6 respectively. Once again, click on the desired vowel to change it. At any time with any remeasurement option, you can clickcancel to stop remeasuring.
