Analyzing the Vine Review program for paid reviews on amazon products to see if they have a positive effect on the listings
- there were 94 paid reviews (vine reviews) vs 40471 unpaid (not vine reviews)
- 48 of the paid reviews were 5 star vs 15663 of the unpaid reviews
- 51 percent of the paid reviews were 5 star vs 39 percent of the unpaid reviews
There is definitely a positivity bias towards paid reviews however the sample size of the paid reviews is very small compared to the unpaid reviews so I would caution against using this a definitive analysis another metric to look at is the avg star rating on the paid vs unpaid which also has a pretty wide gap
