Why?
I rarely use the current react-tanstarter template anymore. Nowadays I always go straight for a monorepo setup with Turborepo and deploy to Cloudflare, with a few more opinionated tools like pnpm, Husky, and lint-staged.
What will happen to the current
mainbranch? Not sure yet, but I'll probably deprecate it in a few months and replace with this Turborepo setup. The TanStack CLI and Builder are getting better everyday so I'm sure they will just remove the need for this template. When that happens, I'll likely rebrand this repo and move it to a different org.
In the meantime, I will continue to maintain the main branch for a few more months while I also wait for the blockers in this branch (see the README and
branch:nextissues). There is still a chance that this will be moved to a different repo, and react-tanstarter stays here, depending on the state of the ecosystem, but we'll see in a few months.
