- Finalized debian/ directory with cargo build support

- Updated .gitignore with Debian build artifacts

- Added Debian install instructions to README

that's great, although I'm not sure if this should be the responsiblity of this project (looking at similar projects they do not provide a .deb build or instructions to make one?), do you have any repositories that can demonstrate a precedent? thanks!

I agree it might not belong directly in this repository.
A separate packaging repository (with debian/ metadata and CI that builds .deb artifacts) could be a cleaner approach.

I can still keep my fork in sync with your upstream to build packages in future.

I agree, that not every php developer who like tui is using Debian or Ubuntu.

That would keep the core project focused while still making installation easier for users who prefer system packages.
