Summary

Deep research pass to significantly improve the richness, trustworthiness, and coverage of the list. Ran 4 parallel research agents examining each section for OG platforms, recent standouts, and structural gaps.

4 new categories added:

  • Reference and Documentation — the biggest daily-use gap; MDN, DevDocs, roadmap.sh (~300k GitHub stars), Can I Use, TLDR Pages, devhints, QuickRef.ME, cheat.sh
  • API Tools and Testing — Postman, Bruno, Hoppscotch, Insomnia, HTTPie, Thunder Client, Swagger UI
  • System Design — System Design Primer (most-starred learning repo on GitHub), ByteByteGo, High Scalability, Architecture Notes, System Design Newsletter, AWS Architecture Center
  • Contributing to Open Source — Good First Issue, First Contributions, Up For Grabs, CodeTriage, OSS Insight, Open Source Friday

Major additions to existing categories:

  • Newsletters: The Pragmatic Engineer (biggest single gap in the list), Pointer, Software Lead Weekly, This Week in Rust
  • Individual Blogs: Paul Graham, Joel on Software, Patrick McKenzie (patio11), Will Larson, Hillel Wayne
  • Company Blogs: Netflix TechBlog, Meta Engineering, Spotify Engineering, Google Developer Blog, Discord Engineering
  • YouTube: ByteByteGo, TechWorld with Nana, NeetCode, freeCodeCamp
  • Code Editors: Emacs (OG), GitHub Codespaces, Gitpod
  • AI Assistants: Windsurf, Bolt.new, v0
  • Productivity: fzf, ripgrep, lazygit, Starship
  • Learning: CS50, fast.ai, O'Reilly Learning, Udemy
  • Coding Practice: LeetCode (biggest gap in the previous list), NeetCode.io, Codeforces, CSES Problem Set
  • Job Boards: levels.fyi (critical for salary research), LinkedIn Jobs, Glassdoor
  • Books: CLRS, You Don't Know JS (free), SICP (free), Clean Architecture, Grokking Algorithms

Structural improvements:

  • Kaggle moved from Social Networks → Learning Platforms (it's primarily a learning platform)
  • Open Source Guides moved from Tool Discovery → new Open Source Contributing category
  • DZone added to News Aggregators

Stats: ~183 entries before → ~263 entries after. awesome-lint passes cleanly.

Test plan

  • awesome-lint passes locally
  • All 276 links verified — 403/timeout failures are confirmed bot-blocks on live sites (verified with browser user-agent)
  • CI passes on PR
