Looks like this theme will not be compatible with mkdocs 2.0.
I've also looked at the mkdocs 2.0, and I find it a betrayal to what mkdocs 1.x was.
Zensical was more impressive but not much because it is still missing an implementation for third-party plugins.

I'm looking at alternatives to mkdocs. I already have a branch that uses mdbook. I'm also exploring vitepress...
