fix(ci): prevent ambigious ref when checking head

• Fixes Git error introduced in feat(ci): add skipComment option, ensure head ref is checked out #938, discovered when testing new version in GitLab pipelines.
• Also fixes flaky E2E test assertion in JSDocs plugin.
