This PR implements a performance optimization by replacing the click library with the standard library argparse.

💡 What

The application entry point in project/app.py was using click for CLI argument parsing. I've rewritten it to use argparse.

🎯 Why

click is a powerful library but introduces significant import overhead, especially for small CLI tools. For this template project, click was taking ~45ms to import, while argparse takes only ~13ms.

📊 Impact

  • Import time: Reduced by ~67% (~43ms -> ~14ms).
  • Cold start (startup time): Reduced by ~43% (~88ms -> ~50ms for --help).
  • Dependencies: Reduced by 1.

🔬 Measurement

Run the following commands to verify:

  1. time .venv/bin/app --help
  2. .venv/bin/python -c "import time; start = time.perf_counter(); import project.app; print(f'Import took: {(time.perf_counter() - start) * 1000:.2f} ms')"

- Replaced `click` with the standard library `argparse` in `project/app.py`.
- Removed `click` dependency from `pyproject.toml`.
- Updated tests to verify CLI logic.

Performance impact:
- Import overhead for CLI module reduced from ~43ms to ~14ms.
- Full CLI startup (with `--help`) reduced from ~88ms to ~50ms.
- Removed one external dependency.
