Patch-Notes Summarizer & Composer

Cut through release-note fog. Pull out breaking changes, new defaults, flags to flip, and a short migration/rollback checklist you can actually run. Or convert messy notes into clean Markdown buckets you can ship.

Quick start

  1. Fetch a URL or paste raw release notes.
  2. Hit Summarize for decisions, or Generate for bucketed Markdown.
  3. Copy Markdown or Export JSON for your pipeline.

Time: 60–90s • Best for: PMs, devs, ops • Tip: include a range like vX→vY to surface skipped deprecations.

Buckets (Composer)

  • Added — new stuff, launches, newly supported flags
  • Changed — updates, tweaks, reworks, refactors
  • Fixed — bugs squashed, regressions addressed
  • Removed / Deprecated — gone now or going soon
  • Known issues — admitted limits/bugs
  • Open questions — TBDs, “needs investigation”
  • Highlights — imperative takeaways and strong headings that don’t fit elsewhere

What this does

  • Summarizer: breaking changes, defaults that moved, toggles to flip, migration/rollback checklist.
  • Composer: parses headings/sentences and auto-buckets by verbs (“added”, “fixed”, “deprecated”…). Output as Markdown or JSON.

Pro tips

  • Use the real changelog (not the hype blog).
  • Add version context (e.g., v1.8 → v1.10).
  • If a bucket looks vague, edit after paste—it’s meant to be fast, not final.

Export & handoff

  • Markdown → PRs, internal notes, customer comms.
  • JSON → docs pipelines, dashboards.

Nerd notes

  • Headings are strong signals; near-dupes are de-duplicated fuzzily.
  • Fetcher: SSRF guards, light rate-limit, 10-minute cache. Very large pages get truncated.
