Storing the long-lived access token in the web-based configuration could pose a security risk. The documentation should include a warning about securing access to the Matterbridge web frontend (port 8283), especially if the server is exposed to a network beyond localhost. Consider adding recommendations for firewall rules or reverse proxy authentication.

The Docker Compose example configures matterbridge using the mutable luligu/matterbridge:latest tag, which creates a supply chain risk because any future image pushed to that tag will be pulled and executed with host networking and access to your home automation environment. An attacker who compromises the image registry or the maintainer’s account could ship a malicious update that gains control over Home Assistant or the host. Pin the image to a specific immutable version or digest and update it explicitly after verification, rather than relying on latest.
