you're suuupper close, @bsarazin1
only trouble is with:
deleteItem() { var elem = document.getElementById("del"); elem.parentNode.remove(elem); },
it's deleting the first item no matter which item I want to delete (getElementById will find the first one). You might consider grabbing each item that you want to delete by its index instead (you can use indexOf and splice)
