It was a bit hidden because the initial loading was very fast. When loading all ions which is required for processing it was however extremely slow. This is not a limitation of HDF5 which is actually designed for fast load speeds. Turns out I was rereading the whole file per scan. Also, the
proxyReadervsreaderProxywas overabstracted.
