Multicam
The multicam mode is used for recording cinematic perspectives from several vessels at the same time. Each vessel looks at the position of its current target, and it's intended to be used with combat mods like KCS and BDA.
The result of a multicam recording is separate video files in Captures\Multicam, one for each vessel, which you can then bring into any editing software like Davinci Resolve to arrange as you like or cut between using Davinci's Multicam feature. The timecodes of each clip are added to the metadata, so any perspectives that come in mid-recording should be synced up.
Multicam can record at the same time that the main camera is recording.
Because of the limitations I described under 'How does audio capture work?', multicam doesn't currently support audio recording.
Not in the current version of Capture Tools, but it's a planned feature, along with the ability to set up a variety of other simultaneous cameras with different types of movement and targets.
Multicam currently selects the active vessel, and then selects vessels in descending order of part count, until the ship limit is reached. As vessels are destroyed, new vessels will be selected to take their place in the multicam.
By default, each multicam perspective is rendered at a resolution proportional to the ship limit, so as not to overwhelm your CPU and GPU. To render each perspective at full-res, enable 'Use Screen Resolution' in the Capture settings.
Warning
Although rendering is almost never the performance bottleneck in KSP, rendering each multicam perspective at full resolution multiplies the normal rendering time by however many perspectives you have. The final video will still come out smooth, but it will take longer to render.
Target delay is the time that the camera will wait before transitioning away from a BDA target, should the target change. This is to allow some time for the destruction of enemy aircraft to be seen.
