Closing this ESLint 10 major version upgrade — it is premature for our repo at this time.

What we found after testing locally:

1. Runtime incompatibility with eslint-plugin-react: ESLint 10 removed the deprecated context.getFilename() API (replaced with context.filename). eslint-plugin-react@7.37.5 (the latest release) still calls the removed method, causing a hard crash: TypeError: contextOrFilename.getFilename is not a function.

2. No ESLint 10 support across the plugin ecosystem yet:

   • typescript-eslint@8.54.0 — peer dep: eslint ^8.57.0 || ^9.0.0
   • eslint-plugin-react@7.37.5 — peer dep: eslint ^3 || ... || ^9.7
   • eslint-plugin-react-hooks@6.1.1 — peer dep: eslint ^3 || ... || ^9.0.0
   • eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y@6.10.2 — peer dep: eslint ^3 || ... || ^9
   • eslint-plugin-import@2.32.0 — peer dep: eslint ^2 || ... || ^9

3. Installation fails in CI without --force or --legacy-peer-deps due to the above conflicts, and even with those flags the plugins crash at runtime.

When to revisit: Once typescript-eslint, eslint-plugin-react, eslint-plugin-react-hooks, eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y, and eslint-plugin-import publish releases with ESLint 10 peer dep support and fix removed API usage. A Jira ticket has been created to track this.
