What

Fission has been a long requested content addition for GTCEu, I plan to bring it to life for GTModern.
My goal here is to bring to life a reactor which takes inspiration from IC2 Reactors while re-imaging it to be an in-world puzzle on a 2d spatial grid rather than a GUI or a 3d Volume (Eg, NuclearCraft)

Implementation Details

The Reactor(s)

  • Three Weight Classes, Separate Controllers Seperated between EV, IV, and LUV
  • Each Reactor Can be built up to 7 blocks deep, which boosts fuel usage and ramps heat production higher.
  • Multiple Unique Reactor Parts that allow you to assemble a reactor layout exactly as you want
  • Directional dependening I/O on the TOP/BOTTOM of the structure, Cooling in from the bottom , out the top. Rods from the top, out the bottom.
  • Reactors Generate Heat, with several options for destroying heat, be it steam, gas coolants, liquid metals, all will have unique routing behaviors

The Fuels

This is Still under work.
As it Stands the Only Fuels that Exist are LEU-235 and HEU-235. Plans to at least have several more fuels for various power setups

The Coolant

  • Water : Won't get easier than that!
  • A Gas Coolant : For Dedicated Systems that wish to directly dispose of waste heat into EU
  • Liquid Metals : Extreme Heat Transfer for high heat applications

The Heat Exchangers

  • Waste Liquids/Gas must be enter a heat exchanger to be recycled and or to start the conversion process to usable power
  • Consumes Distilled Water to produce Supercritical Steam

Turbine Reworks / Additions / Power Upgrades

  • Heatjet Turbine : A new Class of Steam/Heat Turbine that excells at sustained bursts of power, with cooldown periods
  • Steam Turbines : Generally buffed, Gains EU Multipliers based on the steam quality

Steam Reworks

  • Steam -> Low Pressure Steam : Used for the Bronze Age [ 2mb : 1 EU ]
  • Pressurized Steam : Produced by Large Boilers [ 1mb : 2 EU ]
  • Supercritical Steam : Produced by Heat Exchangers [1mb : 8 EU]

Outcome

2000000000 Reactor Logic and Formation Bugs
Nuclear Progression the base mod

How Was This Tested

I have to build the dang things to actually test the heat behavior

Additional Information

Potential Compatibility Issues

LOL : TBD
