I tried with both gsutil and gcloud storage commands and both are failing with the same error (a domain verification error related with the gemini-code-assist comment).

Should this step be done automatically by AppEngine? Could the documentation be outdated?

This process is likely out of date, but this doc update to remove the gsutil dependency should be addressed to improve the documentation
