@sunnydean - A couple of questions/remarks:

  • Is the about section aimed at talking about the platform (CDSE) or the technology (openEO)? I'm asking because the summary sections in the template are tables where each row represents a platform (see screenshot in next point). This gives the impression that you could ingest multiple platforms. This is different from the table in the guidelines itself, where each property (name, data access, ...) is defined as a row and not a column (see template; see also next point).
  • The current structure of the summary sections in the template results in a "cramped" view of the information. Maybe it would be better to have the properties as rows instead of columns.

  • The current information card creates a lot of unused whitespace on the page. It would be better if the introductory text is stretched across the page and the logo were put next to the bullet points.

HI Bram, just got round to checking this; the image doesn't render on a light theme, could you upload a color version of this one?

Thanks

It's about both, you've filled it out correctly.

Good point, I think we need to work on two things on the template, make it less cramped and clearer to order what data's available .

I think this is a good first draft, can you provide an example workflow and short explainer as well?

Generally It'd be great to do this one together, and before the rest of the platforms get to it so we can set a standard.

FYI the table is mainly to add to this summary here: #77

Thank you for the feedback @sunnydean , much appreciated!

Regarding the "About" section, am I correct in assuming that if another openEO-based platform integrates with EarthCODE, it would receive its own separate page? If so, wouldn't the summary tables always contain just a single row?

Hi Bram, yeah that's right; the summary is not for your page realistically, it's mainly for this overall summary technical page: https://esa-earthcode.github.io/documentation/Technical%20Documentation/Platforms/

looking at OpenEO as an example though, I think we (i.e. WS3) need to rephrase/reorganise the docs on the platform page (hence the ticket I mentioned above).

Thank you for the feedback @sunnydean, makes sense. Assuming that the summary table will be moved, I'll continue adding the necessary content today so that we can review it.

Another suggestion is to maybe "force" the theme to be light or dark, or alternatively, request all platforms (including EarthCODE itself) to upload two versions of their logo, as in the dark theme, some of the logos are hardly visible.

Hi @sunnydean, I have filled in the template further. Feel free to share any feedback you may have. Happy to adjust sections if they are not clear or missing crucial information.
