Plasma 6 True Custom Clock

A simple custom digital clock plasmoid for KDE Plasma 6, designed to support vertical panels, adaptive layouts, and flexible time/date formatting.

Inspired by minimal panel clocks but extended with full orientation-aware rendering and customizable layouts.

Install

Option 1 — KDE Store (Recommended)

1. Open System Settings
2. Go to Plasma Widgets
3. Click Get New Widgets
4. Search: True Custom Clock
5. Install and add to panel/desktop

Option 2 — Manual Install (.plasmoid file)

1. Download the release file
2. Extract if needed
3. You should get:

true-custom-clock.plasmoid

4. Install using:

kpackagetool6 --type Plasma/Applet --install true-custom-clock.plasmoid

OR just drag and drop the .plasmoid file into the Plasma desktop.

5. Add it from Add Widgets → True Custom Clock

File Install (Source Folder Method)

If installing from source:

1. Download or clone repository
2. Place folder into:

$HOME/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/

Example:

~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/true-custom-clock/

3. Restart Plasma shell:

systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell

4. Add widget from widget list

Notes

• Designed for Plasma 6 only
• Some layouts may behave differently depending on panel thickness
• Best experience on vertical panels with adaptive mode enabled
