Summary

  • Reposition ShellForge as a governed AI coding CLI (like Claude Code with local models + governance), not just a runtime
  • Add shellforge chat (interactive REPL) and shellforge ralph (stateless-iterative multi-task loop) as primary entry points
  • Document sub-agent orchestrator (SpawnSync/SpawnAsync), 3 new tools (edit_file, glob, grep), and the v0.8.0 UMAAL milestone

Changes

  • README.md — Updated tagline, Quick Start, "What Is ShellForge?" framing, new REPL and Ralph Loop sections, expanded CLI Commands table, new Built-in Tools table, updated architecture diagram
  • docs/architecture.md — Added Entry Points section (chat/agent/ralph/run/serve), REPL and Ralph Loop subsections, sub-agent orchestrator, updated Go project layout and engine list, fixed duplicate Octi Pulpo row
  • docs/roadmap.md — Added v0.8.0 UMAAL milestone (13 completed items), updated stack table to v0.8.0

Test plan

  • Verify README renders correctly on GitHub
  • Verify architecture.md and roadmap.md render correctly
  • Confirm no broken links

Reposition ShellForge as both a governed agent runtime and an interactive
coding CLI. Add shellforge chat (REPL), shellforge ralph (multi-task loop),
sub-agent orchestrator, and edit_file/glob/grep tools to README, architecture,
and roadmap docs. Mark v0.8.0 UMAAL milestone as completed.
