I was wandering if you would prefer if I created a lib crate, that the extension can reference in Cargo.toml instead of downloading the binary?

It would simplify distribution and comparability.

Thanks--I agree that'd be great in principle, but I'm not quite sure whether it'd work for us. Zed extensions run in a WASM sandbox, and things like process spawning have to be brokered through APIs exposed via the host:

Furthermore, the extension API only allows us to return a binary to execute, so we don't really have a way to inject the solution open message without an extra binary:
