Hi all,

im hoping you can help me. I have several blitzwolf/ gosund plugs in my house. The specific model im currently trying to flash is my Gosund SP111.

After using the minimalist webui fw (1MB) ive tried to flash 1.21 and 1.19. Both just fail and give me a timeout. When reloading i get to see the minimalist flash ui. 1.18 is the last one that actually seems to flash properly to my plug.

Is there a specific change for 1.19/1.21 that im not aware off that prevents me from flashing?
Also, it seems the section for setting an API seems to have disappeared completely from (I believe) 1.14.1

Is there a way (or need) to flash to the newest fw, and how do i get the API section back?

Hm. I would've expected ota page to show you the error and some reasonable explanation. The way to go is to gzip the .bin, and then flash the .bin.gz

1.18...1.19 gained 15KB after MQTT refactoring as it seems. Will have to take a closer look.

thanks for your response. Yes the gzip trick worked and it flashed (i think) but it never came back online so im afraid its bricked in its current state.

Seems there is something in 1.21 at least that doesn’t work well with these plugs.

Just to re-check, you sure it's not in 'safe' mode? There would be ESPURNA-XXXXXX AP present, LED would blink rapidly
(since I am pretty sure I left a bug counting OTA as faulty reboot, breaking our crash detection)

The flashing seemed successful. It eventually said rebooting but after that nothing came back.

The ring lights are all off, no espurna AP visible.

When I insert the plug it doesn't give power, the button works only once to switch it on but after that it stops working so won't shut off/ on anymore.

I just remembered about #2444 (comment), which does sound like the problem w/ 'button works only once'.
Working button means there is a running fw though, since it is turning on the relay through software. Also, as a reminder, long press for ~10 sec would reset everything in the config.

I'll update the button config, settings update should work in the meantime
(assuming you have access to the device on the network and can use webui / http config update / socket connection on telnet port)

fyi I have tried updating BW SHP v23 with a similar board config to check OTA process, but everything seems to be in working order

I don't know why this plug has issues with 1.21 and 1.19.

Unfortunately the reset didn't work, no AP visible. When I plug in the plug the light very quickly lit up and then shut off again as I set it up, but it fully resetting that I can reflash it does not.

I read somewhere that powercycling might work but not for this plug either.

So, unless there is another way, I'm afraid this might be bricked. Upgrading my other plugs to newer versions has no use at the moment either since the API has been removed.

No problem.
Also disregard the note about the blinking, safe mode is like -minimal- here - only WiFi and web server are set up. Button, LED, relays, etc. are off. I got this locally for particular devices, but never committed anything generic.
Second thing I forgot to mention - API is missing from the Web menu sidebar, that is a bug. It could still be configured through the configuration keys, and OTA obviously does not erase previously updated settings (...unless it is really necessary)

Ok, the API part working is good enough, i have some of the other plugs i could try, hopefully not bricking them in the meantime. Im afraid this one is already a goner.
