Have you thought about opening up for preorders as soon as possible? A lot of teams, schools, and grants have specific time restrictions on when they can spend the money and being able to “frontload” this expense would be helpful for many teams.

Yeah, I'm particularly interested since the blog post states that: FIRST Robotics Competition teams will start using the controller in the 2026-27 season. We would love to run it during the 2026 season; we ran it at 2 offseason competitions (we had it mounted above the RoboRio, so that if something went wrong we could simply swap a handful of wire and switch firmware to the RoboRio firmware, but never needed to do it) and it went great. The only issue would be that we'd need to have spare(s) on hand, in case something goes wrong at the competition.

The 2026-2027 season is the one where kickoff occurs in January of 2027. FIRST is moving to unify the years of the programs, so the 2nd number in the year will be the year championships is in.
