OpenlibExtended is an open source app for downloading and reading books from shadow libraries, especially Anna’s Archive. It aims to provide easy, safe, and convenient access to a wide range of e-books.
Android:
- Download the latest APK from Releases.
- Allow installs from “Unknown sources” if prompted.
- Install and launch the app.
iOS:
- Download the latest ipa from Releases.
- Sideload the ipa (i recommend one of these services
Windows:
- Download the Windows build from Releases.
- Run the installer
Linux:
- Download the appropriate AppImage, or Flatpak from Releases.
- Run/install according to your distro.

OpenlibExtended downloads books from Anna’s Archive, a shadow library that aggregates e-books from various sources.
Accessing copyrighted material without permission may be illegal in your country. This app is provided for educational purposes only. Please check your local laws and use responsibly.
However, it is very, very unlikely that anyone will punish you simply for downloading a book.
When you download a book from a shadow library like Anna’s Archive, there isn’t any public record of your activity, and there are currently no known systems for tracking or flagging individual downloaders.
As long as you’re just downloading for personal use and not distributing or uploading copyrighted material, the chances of facing legal consequences are extremely low.

- Make sure you’re connected to the internet.
- It could be that your country/isp blocks the site; then you should try using a vpn or changing your dns provider
- Try different spellings or keywords.
- If it’s not available on Anna’s Archive, it will not appear in results.
- Make sure you are using the latest version from Releases.
- Check for open issues at Issues.
- If not already reported, create a new bug report using the issue template, and attach relevant logs and screenshots.
- Books are usually in EPUB, PDF, or MOBI format.
- Use the built-in reader or any compatible third-party reader app.
- Read CONTRIBUTING.md for guidelines.
- Use the Feature Request template when opening an issue.
- Android/iOS: Usually in the app’s data directory (see Settings > Storage in the app) or your Downloads folder.
- Windows/Linux: In the external directory that you set
- Check for existing or closed issues for answers.
- Open a new issue using the correct template.
- Or start a discussion (if enabled) for general questions.
