When downloading zip from github, the zip contains directories but all directories are empty

The top-level directories are submodules. Downloading the top-level zip file is the same as issuing a clone command:

git clone https://github.com/voidrealms/Qt-Tutorials.git

After you have the top-level directories, you need to get the submodules:

cd Qt-Tutorials
git submodule update --init --recursive --jobs 4

(--jobs is the number of CPU cores for parallel updates)
