I'll post this message in multiple relevant issues in the repo.

So at the beginning of this year, I decided to purchase an EV certificate to properly sign the driver. I was tired of seeing people resorting to the wildest hacks to get the MT2 to work via Bluetooth 😀

I need help testing the driver, especially for hardware I don't have access to, specifically Windows on ARM and the Magic Trackpad 2 USBC.

This signed version supports all the existing features of this project, plus Bluetooth and battery level reading.

Important:

1. Currently, only Windows 11 is supported. Let me know if support for Windows 10 is also desired. NOTE: Windows 10 is not supported out of the box due to issues (not immediately fixable) with the INF validation during signing.

2. The driver can be installed by right-clicking the INF file and selecting "Install". I strongly suggest deleting any previous installed drivers before proceeding: I use "DriverStore Explorer" for that.

Yes, the purchase of the EV certificate is recurring (annual): once it expires, it can no longer be used, but the code you've already signed remains valid and usable.

Regarding Windows 10, I found a solution that has no side effects in terms of security or functionality. It's a self-signed driver package, which, however, installs the two drivers signed by Microsoft. The only limitation is that Windows 10 ARM64 cannot be supported in this way.

Here's the file (only Windows 10 AMD64): MT2FW10-amd64-20260318-SelfSigned.zip

Just select "install" on the .inf file.

The only requirement is to import the included certificate into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities (using certlm.msc).

Once the .inf file has been installed, you can (optionally) remove the certificate (using certlm.msc), leaving no trace of the operation on your PC.

Unable to install the .inf file. It's just a common error like: an error was encountered while trying to add the driver to the warehouse

Will there be support for checking the battery percentage while the trackpad is connected via USB?
Currently, to check the charge level, I have to unplug the cable and wait for the Bluetooth connection to re-establish. Supporting battery reading over USB would be very helpful, as it would allow us to know exactly when the device is fully charged and ready to be unplugged.
