From what i've gathered, whenever a block using the flower model (2 planes in an X formation) and one of the planes is almost perfectly aligned with the camera, the transparency of its texture turns to pure black. If it can't be fixed, it would be nice to be able to set a list of vanilla models that should not be affected by whatever is causing this issue (culling maybe?).
