Actual behaviour

After powering on the TurtleBot 4, the Create 3 boots first, then the Raspberry Pi and RPLIDAR start normally. Within 1–3 minutes, the RPLIDAR stops spinning and the Raspberry Pi shuts off unexpectedly.

Sorry your experiencing this issue,

Can you remove the TB4 rear hatch door.
There is a Create3 Power Distribution board - make sure it is pushed in.
Also make sure the battery power cable (red/black) is connected and the USB C is also connected.

Hi, I checked it and it is connected well.

Now there is white light spinning on create3 but cannot boot the raspberry pi. We use a USB-C cable to power the borad and it can work. We think the battery might be dead. Any other solutions?

And we have two turtlebot4 facing the same issue.

Does the Create3 fully boot up? Do you hear the song play?

One can boot while the other cannot. The problem is that the lights turns off and LiDAR does not spin after a while.

Can you try removing the battery? If the battery management system goes into a protection state the battery will not charge.

There are additional troubleshooting steps in the comment I linked. :

1. Temporarily remove the Create3 adapter board
2. Verify the Battery power output cable and USB are securely connected from the Create3 adapter board.
3. Verify the RPi ribbon cable is securely connected to the top PCBA.

Yes, we have tried to remove the battery and wait for a while and then install back. The issue remains.

I have some additional questions to help me understand. I assume the Create3 cannot boot.

1. What is the Create3 light color of the center button light ring? does it have a solid or spinning light? See light ring details here: https://iroboteducation.github.io/create3_docs/hw/face/

2. Does the light ring change after a few minutes?

3. If the Create3 is not responsive or stuck in a boot up loop (white spinning light) you can try this tutorial and attempt to manually update the firmware on the Create3.
   https://iroboteducation.github.io/create3_docs/faq/faq/ Use the latest H.2.6 Humble firmware.
   If you do this please let me know the outcome or changes?
