Get a resolved object by its ID

Consider an opportunity of getting a resolved object by its ID.
Its impossible to pass resolved objects between processes, but in some cases there is a parent view and a child one. And a parent wants to close a child.

N.B. In Phonenix we have a web view (1) that opens another web view (2). And when a button inside the view 1 is pressed we need to close the view 2.

In this case the parent must hold object returned by the Open() and dispose it when the child is no longer needed. Is it impossible? Maybe you should add some clarification for me :) I also don't understand why you have mentioned processes? Do we need cross-process API?

When a webpage opens an URI via WebApi in Phoenix it's impossible to work with .NET objects in JavaScript. The only thing the first webpage could know about the second one is its ID.

Perhaps we should implement this feature in WebView?

It's a reasonable way but not always possible.

Imagine that your application involves some third party application that is responsible for opening and closing URIs (your application provides only a callback for Shell functions). This third party application wants to manipulate with resolved objects by itself.

If we are planning to provide external API, then ID is not enough. The current Shell interface is fully based on direct references for resolved object(s). So this reminds me to develop additional adapter for such kind of tasks. I mean something like IdShell which acts as a wrapper around the current Shell implementation and holds additional "id-resolved" map for cross-process API.
