Please tell us about yourself (include an email address):
My name is Ibrahim, a software engineer building Azkari - an open-source Islamic app for azkar and Quran.
Email: [hi@ibrahimwithi.com]
Your purpose in using this API:
I'm developing the Azkari app (React Native/Expo) to help Muslims access daily azkar, dua, and Quran content.
I need hadith data to:
Complete missing azkar translations (currently at 58.8% coverage across 26 languages)
Add authentic hadith references and fazl (virtue/reward) descriptions to existing azkar
Verify accuracy of azkar content against authenticated hadith sources
The app is free, open-source, and serves educational/religious purposes for the Muslim community.
API rate limits:
Maximum requests per second: 1-2 requests per second
Maximum requests per day: 100-500 requests per day (mainly during initial data synchronization)
Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
An offline dump would be ideal for my use case. I need to build a local SQLite database with hadith translations
that will be bundled with the app. This is a one-time data import rather than real-time queries. However,
periodic API access for updates would also be valuable.
What are the languages in which would you like hadith data?
Primary: English, Arabic, Turkish, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Indonesian, Malay, Urdu, Bengali
Secondary: Persian, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Hindi, Amharic, Hausa, Kurdish, Somali, Swahili, Tamil,
Uzbek, Yoruba (26 languages total matching my app's i18n coverage)
What programming language will your API client be in?
TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js for data processing scripts, React Native for the mobile app)
