Does `ifelse1` need to exist?

I think this function has identical behavior and interface as ifelse - I'll look into it but it doesn't seem like we need this.

From my quick glance at the code, ifelse1 actually has the same functionality as switch, in that the return arguments can be arbitrary. My understanding of ifelse is that you're a bit more restricted on return typing. So we could probably replace ifelse1 with a combination of ifelse and switch on a case-by-case basis.

Ah, good point. I guess the return value for ifelse must be the same length as the test. I'll look through the code to see where iflese1 is used. I agree if it's as simple as using either ifelse or switch that's probably ideal.
