I saw the preparation commit back in mid 2025, https://github.com/sigmavirus24/github3.py/commit/424d361e0a279a3559d5bb28d89617adc2325ad3 and wondered if there is any blockers you would like to solve before doing a new tag. A comparison against the last git-tag (and pypi) looks very promising.
