extension.commandvariable.dateTime doesn't work in Eclipse Theia IDE

Installed the plugin in Eclipse Theia IDE, followed the example for dateTime and extension.commandvariable.dateTime does not evaluate.
Just tested only this command, maybe others also don't work.

Theia is not a fork of VS Code.

Theia only supports the VSC API.
That command uses the Node/JavaScript buildin module Intl.
Do you see an error in the Developer Tools Console (Help menu).

Quite a few commands use the fs (file system) or path module. I don't know if they work.

I don't use Eclipse Theia. And if Theia does not have a way to use these modules using alternative API's you can't use these commands.
