I have Realme GT 2 comes with qgki kernel..

After kernel compile what should we do with modules XYZ.ko files ? How to install modules?

And i have vendor_boot, dtbo, boot partitions..

Can you help me about it?

You don't need to install any of these modules unless you modified "something related to those modules".

Otherwise, the kernel will load the kernel modules located in your device by default.

You don't need to install any of these modules unless you modified "something related to those modules".

Otherwise, the kernel will load the kernel modules located in your device by default.

Actually I enabled many config as moduls.. which was disabled by default

why building as modules to make things complicated?
you can use =y, instead of =m
btw, I never tried to load a compiled kernel module when booting the system.
I guess you have to wire up the compiled module in modules.load and modules.dep files if you want to load them during the boot.

We don't build any dt related stuffs in my build scripts, we are only compiling the kernel Image.

vendor_boot is where you put the newly built modules, but not the existing ones.

Well, sorry for my previous responses, as I was not familiar with GKI kernels. Now, after buying a GKI device last April, I’ve learned that we actually need to replace both the kernel and all the kernel modules generated during the kernel compilation in order to boot a custom kernel that modifies the stock behavior. This is my own explanation from my Telegram group:

If you really want to compile a kernel for any task that requires enabling anything related to configs that already exist in the stock source, you must compile all the kernel modules and replace the ones currently located in vendor_dlkm, vendor_boot, and system_dlkm.

For example: if you enable, disable, or modify existing features or drivers, you must recompile and replace all the LKMs.

When compiling a new driver that comes from outside, like KernelSU/SuSFS, only the kernel image compilation is needed most of the time.

But if you apply the HCI config patch, which modifies the BT subsystem, you must compile and replace all the modules; otherwise, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi won’t work in most cases. This is a painful task, and that’s why no one builds NetHunter kernels for GKIs with full LKM packages.

To do this, you can refer to my https://github.com/ravindu644/LKM_Tools repository to package compiled modules for vendor_dlkm and vendor_boot.
