Go download the old one from Spices. We're not going to maintain two versions for core Cinnamon applets. |

So sad to see cinnamon slowly turning into gnome with changes no one asked for. |

Survey and discussion: ... among Cinnamon users about whether they prefer the classic or the new Cinnamon menu: A possible long-term solution on the horizon: ...that brings back the classic Cinnamon menu without third-party software:
In my opinion, in the medium term, this should not only be installable as an applet, but should replace the new menu by default. |

A GUI menu item or terminal command that resets the start menu to Classic.
With the release of Cinnamon version 6.6.4 today on LMDE7 (and perhaps also LM22.2), the start menu has been significantly changed.
There may be some who prefer the new menu variant, but I suspect that they will be in the minority.
I would like to suggest an update, distributed via the update manager, that reverts the menu to the style used up to Cinnamon 6.4.13.
For those who prefer the new menu, it could perhaps be made activatable via a GUI menu item or terminal command.
Thank you.
