What is companion_domain for?

I've implemented opencloud, tika, collabora, clamav... on my Unraid server via Unraid docker ui and proxied them behind Pangolin successfully. I did not use env file, so I replace all the env variables with hardcode values on all yaml and docker compose files.

One environment variable that I don't know what it's for is COMPANION_DOMAIN I found in csp.yaml. I did not see it in the env example.

Could someone explain what it is for? and if I need to use it, what port I need to expose? I can't find it in the online documentation.

This is indeed a good question.

We have a currently undocumented integration with uppy/companion. It is basically a cloud importer for end users.
