Splicing Table can revert recent changes when the chunk unloads #73

Description

Sometimes, when unloading the chunk containing a Splicing Table shortly after using it to edit a hex, the edits you just made are reverted. I'm not sure how this is possible, given that changes made in the GUI appear to be persisted to the iota holder as soon as you make them, but it has definitely happened to me at least once, and another user on the hex Discord recently reported the same thing happening to them.

When it happened to me, this was the order of events:

  • I insert a spellbook and make some changes via the Splicing Table GUI
  • I close the GUI, leaving the spellbook inside the Splicing Table
  • I disconnect from the server (causing my base to unload)
  • Upon rejoining a few minutes later, the changes I made are gone

The server did not restart between when I disconnected and when I rejoined, so the reversion was not due to a server rollback - and the other report on Discord involved a chunk unload caused by moving away without disconnecting at all.
