Remote images don't actually display

Steps to reproduce

Embed a remote image via markdown, like ![some descriptive text](https://url/to/image.etc)

Expected behaviour

Despite #399, and them rendering just fine on the desktop, if you embed a remote image with markdown only the text is shown for the

14 mostly I think? Wait, I just checked and my main phone is running 16, I had entirely lost track apparently, anyways I doubt this matters since I have seen it across multiple Android versions and manufacturers (ex. LineageOS, stock OnePlus)

I should add, when I said it works on the desktop I did mean the official desktop app. It does not, interestingly enough, work in the web interface for me either, ex:

FYI this is intentionally disabled on talk iOS.
