Almost all the games are about personal gain and profit, taking as much of the pie as each can. It promotes ambition which is good, but also a lot of selfishness. There is very little feeling of "we're in this together" in many of the solo games.
A cool idea it's to have a boss that comes to fight the entire playerbase, and probably would be a great free way to advertise the site. At the start of each season (every 3 months), in a saturday, let's say early in the morning for US/late evening for EU, same time globally , a new seasonal Monkey boss comes to fight us all, in a very challenging duel. To beat it, we need to beat the 3 phases with a 10 minute break in between to have time to ask friends to come help reinforce the defences.
Let's say phase 1, we need 50 players typing 100 wpm on average to survive it, stage 2 we need 250, and stage 3 we need 1000. That would mean we need 50k words in 10 minutes to survive phase 1, then 10 minutes we recruit more forces, then we'd need 250.000 words typed in 10 minutes, another break and then 1 million. It should be something virtually unbeatable so if we do win, it's a celebration.
If we fail, the Boss will have some banners/flags with his season fire/ice etc, and will laugh in our face on the main page of the website.
There would be a need for some sort of animation/images/sounds so when writing a new word we get the feeling that we fired a bullet into the boss or sent a rocket. And also a progress bar so we can see how our efforts are going.
I don't know if the website can take this amount of traffic, but i think it's a cute idea ^^
