The commit .github/workflows/genpatch.yml: Add workflow removed .* from .gitignore, presumably to add .github directory.

I suggest to revert this change and add !.github/ or similar to .gitignore. When repo is used to build kernel, it becomes a mess.

BTW, I am using your patchset rebased on top of v7.0-rc3 and now v7.0-rc5 for few weeks and so far it works flawlessly.

I think I might have unknowingly ran into this exact thing. When trying to compile the kernel as an RPM, the final file is over a 1GB in size.

Drake would you mind sharing your process for how you got it rebased over 7 rc5. Im testing things myself with different commits with success on 6 and was trying to replicate on cachy 7 rc branch.

Well, it was actually easy:

$ git remote -v

$ git checkout hdmi/hdmi_frl
$ git rebase -i v7.0-rc5

I have used .config from my distro kernel and it works without any issues for me.

Thanks. I was also using my working .config i think my blocker was getting the full 7 rc5 file system from the correct place. Have all the other files in the correct folders and such.

I got it working drake thanks. 144hz 4k hdr and freesync on an LG oled.

Ive got it working with the latest commit too on the very latest rc branch rc6. At first if i had my tv set to 144hz and then booted it would hard lock my tv after the cachyos boot animation. So what have done was to add
video=HDMI -A1:3840x2160@120
into the loader/entries .config of the used kernel. This then does the initial handshake at a safe hz and then the wayland / gamescope reinitialises the display and then the frl kicks in.
So it all boots up normal into 144hz 4k hdr freesync.
