Bug Description

The storage explorer on my MacBook is a bit unstable and restrictive compared with the one on my Windows laptop. To explore the folder, I have to try multiple times and often get this error:

However, I believe it is not about my Azure account issue since I am using the same account to check out the same Azure storage on my Windows laptop and I have never encountered this issue yet.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Launch Storage Explorer
2. Go through the folder and the issue will occur randomly

Actual Experience

This issue happens very random at each time. Sometimes I can explore folders for 10 mins but sometimes I directly got this error when clicking on the first folder in 10 seconds...

Expected Experience

I expect I can browse and explore all the folders without permission and authentication error, since I am able to do that with my Windows laptop and I have never encountered such issue there.

Thanks for the report. The intermittent nature makes this tricky to diagnose remotely. Could you help us narrow it down?

1. Activity log — Go to Help > Open Logs Directory, reproduce the error, then attach the latest log file.
2. Auth method — Are you using the same sign-in method on both machines (e.g., OAuth via browser, device code)?
3. Storage account type — Is this a general-purpose v2 account? Are you accessing blobs, files, tables, or queues?
4. Network — Are both machines on the same network, or does the Mac go through a VPN/proxy?

The activity log will be the most helpful — it will show exactly which API call is failing and why.

Thanks for your quick response:

1. I just randomly clicked and reproduced the error message again and the folder becomes "No data available".

   Sometimes the error goes away itself after 5 minutes but will come back again at a random time. So whenever I encountered this error, i just wait for a bit and then re-clicked the folder, which might resolve the trick for a while.

2. Yes I am using the same login method: Default Web Browser
3. It is an account associated with my Microsoft green account. I use the account to access Blob Containers.

Thanks for the logs. The storage-account-extension log shows listKeys returning 403, which is expected if your account doesn't have the key operator role. Storage Explorer should fall back to data-plane RBAC tokens for table access automatically.

However, the table-extension log doesn't show any data-plane errors — it looks like the logs were captured before the "No data available" error appeared. Next time the error occurs, could you immediately go to Help > Open Logs Directory and share all the log files from that session? We need the logs from the exact moment of the failure to see why the RBAC fallback isn't working.

Also, could you confirm whether you have a "Storage Table Data" RBAC role (e.g., Storage Table Data Contributor or Reader) on those storage accounts?
