.class files that are created when I compile and run a program are put into the src folder

.class files are being put into the src folder instead of the .bin file when I compile and run a program (using the Code Runner extension).

Maybe I need the Eclipse build tools. How would I get those for Visual Studio Code on Windows 10?

It might be something with the Code Runner extension maybe? The behavior I see is when I write my .java files in the src folder and save them, the Java Extension Pack automatically compiles them and puts the .class files in the bin folder. I then run the class files through the command line.

It is very possible that the Code Runner extension compiles the src files in the same directory that they are in and then runs from there. I don't use that extension though, so I don't have a lot of expertise there.
