The MCPL project is using this forum (GitHub Discussions) as a place to for developers and users of all level of expertise to communicate and help each other out. It can be used to ask questions, share ideas, engage with other MCPL users, and so on. In all cases, please be respectful to each other - and be aware that getting an answer to a question relies on other members of the community to answer questions in their own time, and that posting here does not guarantee an immediate response.

In particular if asking for help, try to be respectful and make it easy to help you by:

• Provide details of the context of your work, what are you trying to do, what have you tried.
• Describe your setup carefully. Provide details of relevant software and their versions (e.g. your OS version, Python version, MCPL version, how you installed MCPL, etc. - whatever is relevant). Please provide specific commands or code-snippets that illustrate your question or problem. If your example uses data files not included with MCPL, please make sure we have access to those files.
• If possible, try to use the latest version of MCPL.
• Also note that people might be more motivated to help you if you also tell a bit about the scientific context of your question (who are you, where do you work, what are you trying to do with MCPL).

Finally, it is the hope that any expert (or not-so-expert) user of MCPL will subscribe to notifications from these Discussions pages, in order to help other users with their questions.
