Discord Authentication

Hi, I was looking to stand up another instance of manyfold for a small group of model designers for our private use. We use discord as our main means of communication and I was wondering what your thoughts were on trying to use Oauth2 to authenticate users of manyfold against discord. Thanks

Manyfold does support OIDC / OAuth2 providers, so you should be OK to do that. Set up the admin user before enabling OAuth, but then you should be good to go. There are details at https://manyfold.app/sysadmin/configuration.html#authentication; I've not personally tried it with Discord, but if it's standard OAuth, then it should Just Work. 🤞🏻

I "think" am over my head on this so if you don't have time to respond I totally understand. Looking at the URL you sent I see the environmental variables I need to setup but have a few questions. Do those variables have anything to do with the Oauth section under site settings? Looking at some other applications that use Oauth2 / OIDC to talk to discord there is a lot more settings they are looking for like this example. https://fusionauth.io/docs/lifecycle/authenticate-users/identity-providers/gaming/discord. When I register the with discord a developer app so I can setup Oauth2 on their side I can pick a number of things and then it generates an authentication URL. Where does that go? Also what is the OIDC_ISSUER string supposed to be? It does not seem to be the URL discord generated for me. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks
