Get "Maximum Transfer Size" parameter

Does anybody knows how to retrieve the "Maximum Transfer Size" value? It doesn't appear in the list of parameters given by the camera properties and I haven't found a workaround this. I need to be able to read this value and change it. In this way apparently payload problems can be resolved.....
